Emergency First Aid (Recertification)

Content

This 5 hours recertification is a challenge of the Emergency First Aid and CPR level C course content and requires the student to demonstrate essential skills as well as pass the theoretical exam. This challenge is open to those who have a valid Emergency First Aid certificate from Canadian Red Cross. The training in the refresher courses is shortened in length because the participants are expected to remember some of the skills and knowledge from their original training.

Course Duration: 5 hours

Class Size: 8 to 10 perons

Instructor: Certified Canadian Red Cross Instructor

Languages: English, Cantonese and Mandarin

Eligibility:

  • Age 15 and up
  • A valid Canadian Red Cross Emergency First Aid certificate. Participants must present certificate before registration and bring previous Emergency First Aid certificate card to class (Recertification certificate will not be issued if previous card is not present)
  • Pre-study at home of previous training materials before attending class

  • Certificate is issued by Canadian Red Cross
  • Emergency First Aid and CPR-C certificate (valid for 3 years)
  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid (SFA) and Emergency First Aid (EFA) received approval as meeting the equivalency of Occupational First Aid (OFA)
    Level 1 from WorkSafe BC
  • First Aid students will receive their certificates via email from Canadian Red Cross around 2 weeks after passing the examination.

TERMS & CONDITIONS

I understand and accept the following terms and conditions:


  1. Class will only open with a minimum of 8 students. Classes are subject to change with a notice 5 working days in advance.
  2. Chinese Christian Mission of Canada (referred to as CCM below) may change the location of the course to either our Richmond or Burnaby office, and will notify customers at least 5 working days in advance.
  3. Payment due upon registration.
  4. Cancellation and Refund policy
    • 4.1 CCM may change the date of a course or cancel a course due to inadequate number of participants or unexpected circumstances. A prior notice will be emailed to customers at least 5 working days in advance. Customers may choose other class or a full refund of the course fee and equipment fee(if applicable).
    • 4.2 Customers may request for cancellation or swapping of class under the following conditions:

      Class Cancellation Application
      Cancellation made 28 days or more before the class start date: Refundable with a deduction of an administration fee of $15.
      Cancellation made 2–27 days before the class start date: Refundable with a deduction of an administration fee of $25.


      If valid proof (e.g. a doctor's note or prescription) is provided to show the cancellation is due to health reasons, the administrative fee will be waived.

      Cancellation made on 1day before the class, or on the class start date: Non-refundable.


      Refundable request will only if be considered under exceptional circumstances with a doctor’s note, but a $25 administrative fee will still apply.

      Swap Class Application
      Request to swap class 28 or more days prior to the class start date: Free
      Request to swap class 2–27 days before the class start date: A $25 administrative fee applies.

      If valid proof (e.g., a doctor's note or prescription) is provided to show the transfer request is due to health reasons, the administrative fee will be waived.
      Request to swap class 1 day before or on the class start date: Transfers are not available.

      Transfer requests on the day of class will only be considered under exceptional circumstances with a doctor’s note.
